JLGP Sustainer Committees/Groups
The Junior League of Greater Princeton has a vibrant Sustainer community of approximately 170 volunteers. A member may choose Sustainer status after 7 years of Active membership or, if age 40 or over, after 5 years as an Active member. There are no requirements to maintain Sustainer status, beyond the payment of dues. However, many women choose to continue active engagement with the League.
As Sustainers, we generally meet once a month for potluck dinner or bag lunch at a member home. The dates can be found on the League calendar. In addition, you will see a Sustainer section of the weekly eblast newsletter with reminders about upcoming Sustainer events. The Sustainer Director and other committee chairs will distribute meeting and board notes once a month to a Sustainer-only email list. If you are not receiving any email updates, please reach out to Sustainers@jlgp.org.
There are so many ways to get involved! Below are the committees that have been established and are open for participation. However, if you are interested in starting another group and have the support of other members, please reach out to Sustainers@jlgp.org with your proposal.
Fall Cocktail Party:
The Fall Sustainer Cocktail Party Committee is open to all Sustainers and meets from Spring through the event, usually held in late September. The event is usually hosted by a Sustaining member in their home for members and their significant other. For the committee members, responsibilities include choosing venue/hostess, budgeting, soliciting catering proposals, finalizing a menu, beverage purchases, and decorations as well as working set-up and clean-up at the event. If you are interested in hosting the party or joining the committee, please reach out to Sustainers@jlgp.org.
