ROCKETS

During the 2009-2010 year, the JLGP donated over 400 hours and $24,000 to the community through ROCKETS and our Done in a Day programs. In June 2010, after a very rewarding five year partnership, the JLGP bid a fond farewell to our first ROCKETS partner, Trenton Head Start, leaving behind our ROCKETS curriculum for their teachers to continue to implement in their classrooms for years to come.

On June 12, JLGP League members participated in Trenton Head Start’s Family Fun Literacy Day. Our activity combined science and art, and the children enjoyed making mosaics out of recycled materials in the shape of planets. Each child took home a book about the planets and additional pieces to make another mosaic at home. It was a wonderful day with over 100 families attending the event.
