Please consider supporting the Junior League of Greater Princeton’s 2010-2011 Annual Giving Fund
Highlights of our 2009-2010 accomplishments:
ROCKETS Classroom & Filed Trip Activities – More than 150 3-5 year olds were impacted by our ROCKETS Classroom & Funwork activities at Trenton Head Start, the YWCA Princeton Childcare Center at Valley Road and our new partner Stepping Stones Learning Center.
2009 Teacher Launch Seminar – As part of our ROCKETS program we conducted a seminar on math and science education for preschool and early elementary educators. The teachers left with kits to perform science lessons in their classrooms.
Provisional Class Project – Our new member class partnered with The Children’s Home Society of NJ to enhance their Fun with Books and Music program by renovating their Family Success Center to make it more child and user friendly. Our members gave the room a cheery feeling with kid-friendly paint color; in addition, they created a Mother and Baby area, Toddler area and Reading Nook. The Provisional members also donated musical instruments and books to the program.
Scholarships – Three $1,000 scholarships were awarded to local high school seniors who demonstrated a commitment to voluntarism.
Grants - $5,000 in grant money was awarded to local non-profits to fund their community programs.
In order to continue our commitment to the community and to the mission of the JLGP to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women and improve our community, we need your help.
